RAW Classic is unbleached and unrefined, which is why the paper is brown rather than white. Nothing is added to make it burn faster and there is no chlorine in it, so what you taste is closer to what you rolled.

The criss cross watermark is the part that does the work. It slows the burn unevenly on purpose, which is what stops a joint running down one side.
