The 420-friendly
Venice day
Sun, salt air, street art and the best people-watching in LA. Here's how to spend a laid-back day — and where to gear up before you go.
Visit UsVenice runs on good vibes
Few neighborhoods pack this much into a few blocks — a world-famous boardwalk, an oceanfront skatepark, canals straight out of Old Venice, and Abbot Kinney's stretch of coffee, food and design shops. Whether you're local or just passing through, a Venice day is best done slow.
And it starts at 1321. Roll through the shop on Venice Blvd, gear up, then set out. Below is our own take on the perfect laid-back loop.
Gear up at 1321
Before you hit the boardwalk, stop in and grab what you need. Grinders, papers, glass, Puffco setups, lighters, snacks and the collab merch you'll actually want to wear on the beach.
What to do in Venice
Venice Beach Boardwalk
The heart of it all — street performers, artists, vendors and the best people-watching in the city. Rent a bike or skates and cruise the oceanfront path.
Muscle Beach & the Skatepark
Watch the lifters go at the original outdoor gym, then post up at the oceanfront skatepark where locals session the bowls against a sunset backdrop.
Venice Art Walls & Murals
Legal graffiti walls right on the sand, plus murals scattered across the neighborhood. The backdrop for half the photos that come out of Venice.
The Venice Canals
Steps off the chaos and into calm. Wander the footbridges and waterways, spot the ducks, and see the side of Venice most visitors miss.
Abbot Kinney Blvd
The design-forward strip — coffee, boutiques, galleries and some of the best food in the area, all a short walk from the shop.
Sunset at the Pier
End the day out on the Venice Pier or on the sand as the sun drops into the Pacific. Hard to beat, and it's free.
The culinary experience

Wagyu smash burgers right on the boardwalk — yes, the Marathon — with a cult following and late-night hours. Grab a combo and post up on the sand.

East-coast-style Italian deli sandwiches just off the boardwalk. The Spicy P vodka chicken parm is the move — big, messy, worth it.

The famous egg sandwiches and truffle hash browns — the ideal beach-day breakfast, fast and made to go before you hit the sand.
View on map →And for the in-between moments: coffee at Intelligentsia on Abbot Kinney, and a scoop from Salt & Straw a few doors down. Hours change — a quick check before you go never hurts.

Venice — FAQ
What's the best free thing to do in Venice?
The boardwalk and the beach, hands down. Add the Venice Art Walls, the canals and sunset at the pier and you've got a full day without spending a dollar on admission.
Where should I park?
There are beach lots off Venice Blvd and Washington Blvd, plus metered street parking. Lots fill up fast on weekends and sunny days — earlier is better. Once you're parked, most of the good stuff is walkable.
What does 1321 carry?
Glass, grinders, papers, Puffco and dab gear, lighters, accessories, snacks and collab merch — everything to gear up for the day. In-store we also carry vapes and nicotine products. We're an accessories and lifestyle shop; we do not sell cannabis.
Is Venice walkable?
Very. The boardwalk, Abbot Kinney and the canals are all close together. Park once, then walk or grab a bike and cruise the oceanfront path.
When is 1321 open?
Every day, 11:00 AM to midnight, at 1321 Venice Blvd. Call 310-759-5232 with any questions.
1321 is an accessories and lifestyle shop and does not sell cannabis. In California, cannabis is for adults 21+ and may only be consumed legally and in private — public consumption, including on the beach and boardwalk, is prohibited. Never drive under the influence. Please enjoy Venice responsibly and respect the neighborhood, the locals and the space.
