Bare aluminum is smooth, and smooth is the problem. The grip slips over the rotor of any 2.5 inch Flower Mill and gives you something to actually hold, so the same turn takes less effort and stays under control. It also takes the knocks the body would otherwise take.

BPA free food grade silicone. It pushes on in a second, comes off just as easily, and washes with soap and water when it gets sticky.

Worth knowing

Clear disappears against the mill and keeps the finish visible. Neon Green is the one to take if you put your mill down in dark rooms and lose it. Running a 2 inch mill instead? You need the 2.0 inch grip, they are not interchangeable.
