The Classic made the Volcano famous on a dial and a fan. The Hybrid keeps that and adds everything the analog version could not do. Set the temperature exactly, to the degree, anywhere from 104 up to 446 Fahrenheit. Fill a balloon or pull straight off the tube, both are included, so it works as a party centerpiece and as a solo session device without buying anything extra.

The real upgrade is in the base. The Hybrid adds a heated metal ring that conducts heat directly into the filling chamber before the fan ever kicks in, which is why the first bag off a Hybrid comes out noticeably thicker than the first bag off a Classic. Convection and conduction working together rather than convection alone.

Heat up is forty seconds. The chamber is ceramic coated and detaches without tools, and every part that touches vapor cleans in iso or the dishwasher. These things run for a decade.

Worth knowing

Storz & Bickel recommend swapping the balloon and mouthpiece every couple of weeks for hygiene, so treat those as consumables rather than permanent parts. The companion app is Bluetooth and browser based, and it is not available for iOS or Apple devices. Everything works from the touch buttons without it.
