The verdict
Get the Pivot ($139) if you want the cheapest, simplest way in. It is a pocket e-rig with onboard controls and no app required. Get a Proxy ($239 to $265) if you want the device you will keep adding to. It has app control and a cross-compatible ecosystem, and it comes glass-free in the Core Kit or with hand-blown glass in the Pipe Kit. Both run Puffco's 3D Chamber. Most first-time buyers end up happier with the Pivot, and most people who plan to keep upgrading end up happier with the Proxy.
Puffco Proxy vs Peak: the short answer
Same price, two completely different sessions.
The verdict
Get the Peak ($239) if the session happens at home. It is a countertop rig with water filtration and a swappable glass top, a 20-second heat-up and roughly 35 dabs a charge, all run from one button with no app to learn. Get the Proxy Core Kit ($239) if the session moves. Same price, but it is pocketable and completely glass-free, so nothing in the kit can break, and it adds Puffco Connect app control at about 15 dabs a charge. Both run the same 3D Chamber, so the hit itself is not what separates them. Battery life and water filtration go to the Peak, portability and the cross-compatible Proxy glass ecosystem go to the Proxy. If you want the biggest pulls instead of either, that is the Peak Pro 3DXL ($439 to $445). Short version: Peak for the table, Proxy for the trip.

Core Kit or Pipe Kit: the Proxy, explained
The product names do not make this obvious. Both kits contain the same device, and the only difference is the body it ships in.
Identical in both kits
The Proxy Base. The Bluetooth-enabled heater and battery, which is the actual device, is the same in both kits: same 3D Chamber tech, same Puffco Connect app control, roughly 15 dabs per charge, same 2-year warranty. What you are picking is what attaches to it.
Proxy Core Kit
The base plus the Core, an anodized aluminum cup and silicone mouthpiece. No glass anywhere in the box.

Neither choice locks you in. Every piece in the Proxy Collection is cross-compatible with the same base. Start with the Pipe Kit and add the Core accessory ($49) later to go glass-free for a trip, or start with the Core Kit and add glass when you want it. The $26 between the two kits buys you the body you want on day one.
One compatibility note: the Core only fits the newer Bluetooth-enabled Proxy Base, so it will not attach to an older Proxy.

Proxy Core Kit vs Proxy Pipe Kit: what's the actual difference?
It is the same device in a different body. Both kits contain the identical Bluetooth Proxy Base, with the same chamber tech, the same app and roughly 15 dabs per charge. The Core Kit ($239) ships with an anodized aluminum cup and silicone mouthpiece, so there is no glass to break. The Pipe Kit ($265) ships with a hand-blown borosilicate glass pipe, which smooths the hit and opens up the rest of the Proxy Collection. Peak Pro vs Proxy: which should I get?
Get the Peak Pro 3DXL if you mostly dab at home and want the biggest, most customizable pulls, since it delivers roughly double the vapor and 40 dabs a charge against 15. Get a Proxy if portability matters, because it fits in a palm and goes anywhere.
What's the difference between the 3D and 3DXL chamber?
The 3DXL Chamber, found only on the Peak Pro 3DXL, has a roughly 78% larger bowl and about twice the vapor output of the standard 3D Chamber used in the Peak, Pivot and Proxy. It is the biggest jump in size and output across the lineup, and the main thing you are paying for at the top of the range.
Can I use a Puffco with my own glass rig?
It depends on the device. The Peak Pro Link ($110) runs a Peak Pro through your own rig, and it needs a Peak Pro base with firmware AW or newer, so it will not work with a standard Peak. The Pivot Glass Adapter ($55) does the same for the Pivot. The Proxy pairs with glass from the Proxy Collection rather than third-party rigs. The Peak takes swappable glass tops, which is a top swap rather than a rig adapter.
Why do some Puffcos cost more in certain colors?
Standard colorways are all the same price, so the Peak is $239 in Onyx, Sapphire or Zest. Limited-edition runs are the exception. The Peak Pro in Plasma is $445 rather than $439, because it is a limited release with exclusive glasswork and finish rather than a straight recolor.
Did Puffco prices go up in 2026?
Yes. Puffco raised prices across the range in August 2026. The Pivot went to $139, the Peak and Proxy Core Kit to $239, the Proxy Pipe Kit to $265, and the Peak Pro 3DXL to $439. Accessories moved less, but they did move: the Peak 3D Chamber went from $49 to $58, and the Peak Pro 3DXL chamber now runs $90 to $95 depending on colorway.
