Dr. Dabber vs Puffco: which e-rig to buy

Both make excellent e-rigs, and they heat concentrate in two different ways. Here is the Switch 2 against the Peak Pro 3DXL, the SwitchGO against the Proxy, and the Ghost 2 against the Pivot, with the prices we charge today.

The short answer

Get a Dr. Dabber if you care most about exact temperature and easy cleaning. The Switch 2 and SwitchGO heat by induction, read the real chamber temperature with an infrared sensor, run 250 to 650 degrees through the app, and use an insert that lifts straight out.

Get a Puffco if you want the bigger ecosystem. Swappable glass tops, the Proxy glass collection, wireless charging on the Peak Pro and a simpler one button feel. Puffco is also the one we are an authorized retailer for.

Flagship: Switch 2 vs Peak Pro 3DXL

What it costs to keep running

The device is a one time cost. The part that wears is what you keep buying. These are our current prices on the replacement for each rig.

Questions people ask

Is Dr. Dabber better than Puffco?

Neither is better across the board. Dr. Dabber's Switch 2 and SwitchGO use induction heating with an infrared sensor and a 250 to 650 degree range, and their inserts lift out to clean. Puffco has the bigger glass ecosystem, wireless charging on the Peak Pro and a simpler interface. Pick on which of those matters to you.

What is the difference between induction and a ceramic chamber?

Induction runs a magnetic field through a metal chamber so the chamber heats itself evenly from every side, and an infrared sensor reads its real temperature. Puffco's ceramic chambers have heat traces built into the walls. Both heat from the sides rather than just the bottom, which is why both taste better than an old coil.

Switch 2 or Peak Pro 3DXL?

The Switch 2 has the wider temperature range, 50 cycles a charge and the Drop tool in the box. The Peak Pro 3DXL has wireless charging and takes the huge range of Peak glass tops. Both are app controlled home rigs.

Which is cheaper to run?

It depends on the rig. The Dr. Dabber cups and the Ghost 2 e-chamber are the cheapest replacements here, and the Peak Pro 3DXL chamber costs the most. The table above shows our current price on every replacement part.
