The Switch 2 runs a removable insert instead of a bonded atomizer, so the piece that touches your concentrate is the piece you pull out and clean. That is why these rigs outlive coil-based ones.

Hand forged quartz is the daily driver, uniform, fast to heat, and cheap enough to keep a spare. Single crystal sapphire holds heat noticeably longer and returns more flavor, especially on a low temp start, and less residue sticks to it so cleaning is quicker. Most people end up owning both and reaching for sapphire when the material is worth it.
