Every Glass Top That Fits the Puffco Pivot

Four tops fit the Pivot, and none of them are the ones that fit a Peak. Here is what each one does.

The Pivot is the small one, and small is the whole point of it. It also means it ships with no water filtration at all, so the single biggest change you can make to how it draws costs less than a chamber and takes about four seconds to fit. Four tops are made for it. One runs dry and three hold water, and the difference between those three is not styling, it is how hard you can pull and how much the vapor gets broken up on the way to you.

Why a Peak top will not work

This is the most common wrong order we see, so it is worth being blunt about. The Peak, New Peak and Peak Pro share one glass fitting. The Pivot uses a different one, and so does the Proxy. Three separate systems, no adapters between them, no exceptions.

The three wet tops

Water is the reason to do this. A Pivot with a wet top stops being a dry pen and starts being a very small bubbler, and that is a bigger change in feel than anything else you can buy for it.

Plateau · wet, 2" x 2.75"

The compact one, and the easiest first swap. A wide flat base, thick walled handmade borosilicate, and enough water to take the edge off without turning the Pivot into something you have to carry carefully. At two inches it barely changes the footprint of the device. It also fits MJ Arsenal's Dock if you run one. See the Plateau.

Fab Egg · wet, fab egg perc, 3.6" x 1.5"

The most filtration available on a Pivot. A fab egg is an old rig shape, an egg shaped chamber that makes vapor circulate instead of passing straight through, which breaks it up and cools it more thoroughly than a simple slit ever does. MJ Arsenal shrank it to 3.6 inches so it works on something you hold in one hand. If your complaint about the Pivot is that the hit arrives hot, this is the answer. See the Fab Egg.

Sidecar · wet, sidecar mouthpiece, 5.2" x 2.9"

The biggest of the four and the one that solves splashback. A sidecar puts the mouthpiece at an angle to the chamber rather than straight above it, so water cannot travel up into your mouth on a hard pull. It has a second benefit nobody mentions: your face is not directly over the device while you draw, which is more comfortable on a rig this size. See the Sidecar.

The one that runs dry

BigFUN! Tricolor · dry, 2.6" x 1.2"

Shaped like a miniature water pipe but no water goes in it. The downstem doubles as a carb hole instead, so you get airflow control with nothing to fill, spill or empty before the rig goes in a bag. That makes it the one to travel with, and it is the cheapest way to change how the Pivot looks. Handmade borosilicate with a three colour gradient running the body, in Sorbet or Canopy, and it fits the MJ Arsenal Dock as well.

Which one to pick

Past the glass

Glass is the cheap upgrade. The other two things people ask about on a Pivot are the chamber and the adapter. The 3D chamber comes in a two pack, which is the part that actually wears, and there is a glass adapter that puts the Pivot onto a bong or a full size rig if you want the portable one to do double duty at home.

Fit and cleaning

All four drop straight on, no adapter needed, and the Pivot itself is never included with a top. Every one is handmade borosilicate, so no two come out quite identical and none of them love thermal shock. Let a piece cool before it goes near hot water.

The three wet tops want draining after a session rather than the next morning, because a small chamber gets stale faster than a big one does. Warm iso, agitate gently, rinse hot.
