The extra half inch of diameter is what you feel. Thirty six teeth clear a larger load in fewer turns, and the wider plate means less compressing when the chamber is full, so a whole eighth goes through in one go.

Under the teeth sits the screen and the kief chamber, collecting as you grind. Deep threading with a friction ring keeps the halves square, a rare earth magnet holds the lid shut in a bag, and the knurled wall gives grip when your hands are cold or wet.

Which size

The medium 4 piece is the one most people buy at 2 1/8 inches. The small is the pocket version, and the jumbo goes to four inches. The large 3 piece is this diameter without the kief screen, trading it for one deeper chamber you can scoop from.
