The 3.5 inch Pro Mill on its own ships with one plate, the #3 Medium. The Kit is the whole platform in one box: the mill, all six Pro plates, the 3.5 inch silicone grip, a mason jar adaptor that threads the lower chamber straight onto a jar, and a hard case to keep it all in. The grip, the adaptor and the case are kit-only right now and are not sold on their own.

The mill itself is the same Pro. No teeth, a rotor that rolls flower across the plate so it crumbles where it naturally breaks, up to 7g per pass and over 1,000g an hour, a locking plate system that stays seated under a heavy load, 6061 aluminum outside with a food grade stainless milling chamber, and a lifetime warranty.

Kit or mill

The math is simple. The mill is $249 and the Pro plates are $25 to $35 each on their own, so five extra plates plus the grip already clears the difference before the adaptor and the case come into it. If you know you want to run different consistencies, or you want a mill that lives on the table with everything it needs in one place, the Kit is the one. If you only ever mill one way, the mill on its own is all you need.

Read this before you order plates

Pro plates are 3.5 inch only. The 2.5 inch and 2.0 inch Premium plates will not fit this mill, and the Kit already includes every Pro plate there is, so there is nothing else to add. If you ever lose one, they are sold individually.
