Thick borosilicate wrapped in silicone, so it survives the drop that ends most glass spoons.

The smoke path is all glass, which is the part that matters for taste. The silicone is structural: it wraps the body where your hand sits, absorbs the impact when it rolls off a table, and forms a foot at the base so the pipe stands up instead of rolling. Four inches long, a 17mm bowl and a left side carb.

The silicone bowl cover is the detail that earns its keep. It stows into the body when you are not using it and caps the bowl when you are done, which puts out a smouldering ember and keeps the smell contained on the way home. A metal poker stores on the pipe itself, so clearing the bowl does not involve hunting for a paperclip.

Care

Sea salt and 70% isopropyl for the glass. Isopropyl and a water rinse for the silicone, dried fully before reassembly.
