Which Flower Mill is right for you?
Three mills, one big upgrade over a regular grinder. Here's how the Standard 2", Standard 2.5" and Premium Stainless compare — and how to pick the right one.
First — a mill isn't a grinder
People search "flower mill grinder," but that's not quite what it is. A grinder has teeth that tear and crush. A Flower Mill shaves your herb into a light, even, fluffy consistency — which is why it burns smoother and wastes less.
A regular grinder
- Teeth tear and crush the flower
- Trichomes get knocked off and stick to the teeth
- Uneven, clumpy results
- Gunks up and gets sticky over time
A Flower Mill
- Shaves herb into a light, fluffy mill
- Keeps trichomes intact and on the flower
- Even consistency that burns smoother
- Open design — easy to clean, never clogs

The three, in detail
A little more on who each one is for.
Standard 2" — the easy start
How Flower Mill made their award-winning mill accessible to everyone. The same patented milling system in aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum, in a compact 2" body that comes in five colors. The best first mill, and the easiest to carry.
Shop the Standard 2" →Standard 2.5" — more room to work
The same award-winning mill and aircraft-grade aluminum build, with a wider 2.5" body and more capacity per pass. Choose this if you mill larger amounts and don't want to do it in batches. Five colors.
Shop the Standard 2.5" →Premium Stainless Series — the flagship
Flower Mill's best. Built from food-safe stainless steel inside and out for people who want the most durable mill they can buy — in 2" ($68) or 2.5" ($89). It also takes swappable mill plates, so you can dial the grind from extra fine to extra coarse.
Shop the Premium Stainless →Got your mill? Keep it dialed in.
Swappable plates to change your grind, silicone grips for an easier hold, and mill wax to keep it running smooth — everything to get the most from it.

What's the difference between a Flower Mill and a grinder?
A grinder uses teeth to tear and crush your flower, which knocks off trichomes and clumps the result. A Flower Mill shaves it into a light, even, fluffy consistency that keeps the trichomes intact and burns smoother. The open design also means it doesn't gunk up like a toothed grinder.
Should I get the 2" or the 2.5"?
Go 2" if you want something compact and pocketable for everyday use. Go 2.5" if you mill larger amounts at a time and want more capacity per pass. Both use the same patented milling system.
Is the Premium Stainless worth it over the Standard?
If you want the most durable mill and the ability to change your grind, yes. The Premium is food-safe stainless steel inside and out and takes swappable plates, so you can run anything from extra fine to extra coarse. The Standard is aluminum with a single grind — still excellent, just not adjustable.
Can I change how fine it grinds?
On the Premium Stainless, yes — it takes swappable mill plates in five grades from extra fine to extra coarse. The Standard mills to a single consistency.
