Flower Mill Standard vs Premium
The Standard and the Premium mill flower exactly the same way. The difference is what the body is made of, and whether the grind is a setting or a fixed thing you accept.
Buy the Standard if you grind one way and want the milling action for the least money. Buy the Premium if you want to change the grind, or want the one you will still own in ten years.
Flower Mill 2.0 vs 2.5
Same mill, same patented action, different capacity. This is a question about how much you do at once, not about which one is better.
Take the 2 inch if it needs to go in a pocket. It holds up to 1.5g. Take the 2.5 inch if you would rather mill once than three times. It holds up to 2.5g.
When you actually need the Pro
The 3.5 inch Pro is a different class of thing. Up to 7g in one pass and rated over 1,000g an hour, with plates that lock into place so they stay seated under a full load.
Skip it if you mill an eighth at a time. Get it if the eighth is the warm up, so rolling for a group or working through real volume without milling five times over.
First, a mill isn't a grinder
People search "flower mill grinder," but that is not quite what it is. A grinder has teeth that tear and crush. A Flower Mill grinder rolls flower across a screen and lets it crumble where it already wants to break, which is why it burns smoother and wastes less.

Read this before you order plates
This is the one people get wrong. The Standard runs a fixed mill plate and will not accept any interchangeable plate at all, so buying plates for a Standard gets you nothing. Above that there are three separate plate families and none of them cross over: 2.0 inch Premium at $12, 2.5 inch Premium at $14, and 3.5 inch Pro at $25 to $35. The Pro plates are thicker and cut with a keyed notch that locks into the mill, so they physically will not seat in a smaller one. Check which mill you own before ordering, or just ask us.

The biggest mill Flower Mill has ever built, and the same no teeth idea at a completely different scale. The 3.5 inch footprint gives the rotor a much wider milling surface, so it turns smoothly under a full load. Fill it with up to 7g and mill it in one go. Flower Mill rates it at over 1,000g an hour, which is why rollers use it, but it is just as happy as the mill that lives on the table. Deeper housing and ring than the 2.5, a locking plate system that keeps the plate seated however hard it gets worked, and a lifetime warranty.
Pro 3.5" Kit, the whole platform in one box

The Pro Mill on its own ships with one plate, the #3 Medium. The Kit is everything: the mill, all six Pro plates, the 3.5 inch glow in the dark silicone grip, a mason jar adaptor that threads the lower chamber straight onto a jar, and a hard case to keep it in. The grip, the adaptor and the case are kit only right now and are not sold separately. Five extra plates plus the grip already clears the price difference before the adaptor and case come into it.

Common questions
What is the difference between a Flower Mill and a grinder?
A grinder uses teeth to tear and crush your flower, which knocks off trichomes and clumps the result. A Flower Mill rolls it across a milling screen with a 20 flute rotor that has no teeth at all, so it crumbles along the lines it would break on anyway. What lands in the catch is fluffy and even. The open design also means it does not gunk up like a toothed grinder.
Flower Mill 2.0 vs 2.5, which size should I get?
The 2 inch holds up to 1.5g and is the size that actually fits a pocket. The 2.5 inch holds up to 2.5g, which is the difference between milling once and milling three times for the same session. Both run the same patented milling system, so nothing about the result changes. Pick on capacity and where it lives.
Flower Mill Standard vs Premium, is the Premium worth it?
If you want the most durable mill and the ability to change your grind, yes. The Premium is food safe stainless steel inside and out and takes swappable plates, so you can run extra fine for a vaporizer and extra coarse for a bowl out of the same mill. The Standard is aluminum with a fixed plate. Still the same milling action, just not adjustable, and it costs less than half as much.
What is the difference between the aluminum and stainless steel Flower Mill?
The Standard mills are 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, which keeps them light and lets them come in six colors: Black, Gray, Blue, Purple, Pink and Green. The Premium is food safe stainless steel inside and out, which is heavier, more durable, and the only version that takes swappable plates.
Can I change how fine it grinds?
On the Premium Stainless, yes. It takes swappable mill plates in five grades from extra fine to extra coarse, with Medium included in the box. The Standard mills to a single consistency and cannot take the plates at all.
Do Premium mill plates fit the Standard?
No. The Standard runs a fixed mill plate and will not accept them, which is the most common mistake made buying accessories for these. There are then three plate families that do not cross over: 2.0 inch Premium, 2.5 inch Premium, and 3.5 inch Pro. The Pro plates are thicker and keyed to lock into the Pro Mill, so they will not seat in a smaller one. Check which mill you own first.
